Since going gluten free, one of the hardest things I’ve found is what do you eat when you are in a hurry or tired and hungover? Pre gluten free days, my go to would have been to pick up chicken vermicelli which is quick, easy and delicious. Well now my prayers have been answered because Lemongrass West Vietnamese has an entire gluten free menu which even includes spring rolls!
Ok so spring rolls really aren’t healthy but let me tell you, after 5 years without having them, I was in
heaven when I ate them as an appe the other night at Lemongrass West. The spring rolls were made out of rice paper and were so fresh and delish!
Next I had the chicken vermicelli. Part of me was worried because at other vietnamese resto’s I would ask for gluten free but always have a really bad reaction so I know that there is hidden gluten. Well this time I received my dish, tried it and waited a couple of minutes and viola, no reaction. Not only that, the dish tasted totally authentic.
I enjoyed the entire meal and was very impressed by Lemongrass Vietnamese. Our server
was very sweet and helpful but the service was a bit slow. I am thinking this is because the restaurant was full.
Overall a great experience. Check out Lemongrass West Vietnamese at www.lemongrasswest.ca.
