4th Spot Kitchen: Great Location, Bad Service

4th Spot Pizza is located just a few blocks north of 16th avenue and I have a good girlfriend who lives a few blocks away. My friend is also celiac and she had been to 4th Spot and said we needed to go. We went on a Wednesday night and upon arrival I was pleasantly surprised at the fact that the restaurant was so busy. Part of this I believe is because of the the cool interior but also because of the fact that there aren’t other comparable restaurants in the area.

We decided to order a Hawaiian gluten free pizza and thought if we were still hungry we would order wings. Apparently the fryer didn’t bother my friend and she is super sensitive for cross-continamination. We put in our order and it took quite a while for our food to come. When our pizza was put down my girlfriend said that the pizza didn’t look right. The runner said it definately wasn’t gluten free and that he would have a gluten free pizza rushed. After the initial 60 minutes, we finally received our gluten free pizza but we were lacking share plates as well as our drinks were empty.

After waiting a few minutes, I finally went to the server stand and grabbed us a couple of share plates and napkins. After about 10 minutes were were able to flag down our server and receive a refill on our drinks.

The pizza was delish but the service was terrible. My friend said that the service wasn’t usually like that and it must have been an off night. I sure hope so, but if you live in the area, it’s worth a try for the pizza.
